The Star Brisbane sits inside the Queen’s Wharf precinct, and the official app is basically the way members and guests stay plugged into the venue when they are not physically on site. It is important to flag early that it is not a real-money gambling app, even though people often assume that from the name. Instead, the app focuses on membership, loyalty points, bookings and venue details that cover all three Star properties in Brisbane, Sydney and on the Gold Coast.
Putting the app on an Apple device is fairly simple. On an iPhone or iPad, open the App Store, type in “The Star App” and look for the official listing. One thing that quietly trips people up - it is region-locked. If your Apple ID or App Store is not set to the Australian storefront, the app might not show up at all or it may refuse to install properly. That sits under Settings, tap your name, then Media and Purchases, then Country/Region to confirm it points to Australia. When that looks right, tap Get, then authenticate in whatever way you usually do on that device.
On Android phones and tablets, the flow is similar but through Google Play. Open the Play Store, search “The Star App”, then tap Install when you see the official Star Entertainment listing. It will download over Wi-Fi or mobile data, there is no strong preference there, although Wi-Fi can be a little more stable. Once the install finishes, the icon appears on your home screen or in the app drawer and you can launch it straight away.

Setting Up Your Account
On first launch, the app opens on a clean login page, with a “sign up” or registration link sitting just underneath the fields. Existing Star members can head straight for the login box. Enter the membership number or the email address that was originally registered, along with the password. If the password has slipped your mind, tap through to the reset option on that same screen and a reset link is emailed out.
New members follow the registration flow. It runs through a few quick screens rather than dumping everything onto one form.

Finding Your Way Around the Interface
Along the bottom edge of the app there is a five-tab navigation bar. The sections are labelled Home, Membership, Offers, Venues and Account. Home is a rotating panel of your latest activity and featured content that lines up with your tier. Venues gives you a list of the three Star locations - Brisbane, Sydney and Gold Coast - and tapping Brisbane opens up into the Queen’s Wharf content, including dining bookings, event schedules and general resort information.
Inside the Brisbane section, both the Event Centre and the Sky Deck have their own presence, with descriptions and booking links where they are relevant. The Star Grand Hotel Brisbane appears in the accommodation area as the main on-site hotel. It is not every single detail of the precinct, but the core pieces that most guests are looking for before or just after a visit tend to be there.
Offers is a more personal space. It holds member-only promotions that are tied directly to your membership level rather than generic public specials. Two people with different tiers can see completely different offers. Tap on any one of them to see the full terms, how long it runs for, and what you actually need to do to redeem it when you are at the physical venue.

Account settings live behind the little profile area or under the Account tab, depending on device and screen size. That is where contact details can be updated, notification settings adjusted and membership cards linked or unlinked. Push alerts have separate toggles by category. Venue updates, offer alerts and event reminders each have their own switch, which ends up being more practical than a single blunt on/off setting.
A Bit of Background on The Star Brisbane
The Star Brisbane started operating on 29 August 2024 as part of the AU$3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane project in the CBD. It effectively stepped into the space left when Treasury Brisbane closed its doors on 25 August 2024, so from that point The Star became the only casino running in the city.
Operational control sits with The Star Brisbane Operations Pty Limited, a subsidiary of The Star Entertainment Group that is listed on the ASX. At the time of opening, The Star Entertainment Group held a 50% interest via Destination Brisbane Consortium. Transactions that followed in 2025 and 2026 saw Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium move to full ownership of the Queen’s Wharf property itself. The Star Entertainment Group continues to manage the casino floor and associated gaming operations under a contracted management arrangement. In practice, the Star branding stays on the doors, but the underlying property ownership has shifted.
The first stage of opening covered the core assets. That meant the main gaming floor, premium gaming spaces, The Star Grand Hotel, the Event Centre, the Sky Deck overlooking the Brisbane River, as well as the Neville Bonner pedestrian bridge and bikeway. Shared public areas came online along with a selection of food and beverage outlets. Across the full length of the staged rollout, the plan calls for more than 50 restaurants and bars to be operating throughout the precinct.
The casino licence comes from the Queensland Government. Day-to-day operations sit within an approved remediation plan and are monitored under the supervision of external advisor Nicholas Weeks. Those arrangements tie back to earlier regulatory findings about Star’s Queensland activities.
